The Evening Tea That Changed Everything
For forty-two years, every evening at exactly 5:30, Rajesh and Meena sat together on their small balcony.
There was always tea.
And there was always something to share.
Years ago, it used to be hot pakoras, biscuits, or sweets. But as time passed, age brought new challenges. Rajesh was advised to reduce refined sugar, and Meena wanted healthier eating habits.
One evening, Rajesh sighed.
“I miss those little treats with tea.”
A week later, their granddaughter Aanya came home from college.
She walked into the kitchen carrying a small gift wrapped in a simple cloth pouch.
“Dadu, Dadi, I brought something special.”
Inside were handmade laddus prepared with pure ghee, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds, dates, and jaggery.
“Healthy laddus?” Rajesh laughed. “Can healthy things really taste good?”
“Only one way to find out,” Aanya smiled.
He took a cautious bite.
The rich aroma of roasted nuts, the warmth of pure ghee, and the natural sweetness reminded him of the laddus his own mother used to make during winter.
He closed his eyes.
“For a moment,” he whispered, “I felt like I was back in my childhood.”
From that day onwards, their evening tea changed.
Instead of processed snacks, they enjoyed one wholesome laddu together, talking about old memories, family stories, and dreams for their grandchildren.
Their balcony became the favourite gathering place for the family.
The grandchildren stopped looking at their phones and started listening to stories.
The recipes, values, and laughter that had almost disappeared returned, one evening at a time.
On their 45th wedding anniversary, Aanya handed them another cloth pouch.
It carried a handwritten note.
“Love grows when families sit together. Food simply gives love a place to begin.”
Meena hugged her granddaughter.
“You didn’t just bring us laddus,” she said.
“You brought back our evenings.”

Life Lesson
The best family traditions are not always grand celebrations. Sometimes, they begin with a simple conversation over a wholesome bite shared with the people we love.
Poshan Thought
Every Poshan Potli laddu is inspired by the belief that food is more than nutrition—it is a reason to pause, connect, and create memories that last a lifetime.
